Review:
Yes, everything you've heard is true. The position is part of pop culture. The domestic conflict is well known. But nothing shocks like experience itself. If you have not seen this movie, do yourself a favor. Stop reading thse comments, get up, take a shower, then go get this movie. Buy, do not rent. You will not regret it.Psycho is easily the best horror-thriller of all time. Nothing comes even close ... Maybe Les Diaboliques (1955), but not really.Psycho one of the best scripts will always be found in the film. Movies only drawback is that one of the characters seem to have little incentive in the first act of the film as the story progresses, you realize that; Hitchcock (! GENIUS! Genius genius) In a stroke of genius have done it deliberately, because there is another character motivations are even more important. Extremely important. So important that you completely forget about anything else. I was so lucky to have spent my life wisely avoided any talk of a plot of this movie while I was getting r to view in full. Thank God I did! The film is probably the best mid-point and climactic plot twist in the history of the thriller, and certainly the best straight end. The last shots are cooling after a horror audience mind.Just good as the writing is Hitchcocks direction, that is so exceptional that defies explanation. Suffice it to say that this film is probably the best effort Commission film history best director. I was fortunate enough to see this film on the big Oldtimer movie revival house while Hitchcock. Janet Lee, but still bright, talked about the film and explain how Hitchcocks genius is in his ability to 1) scare without Gore and 2) an indelible mark on the film without overshadowing the actors (like a Jean Renoir could never do). Psycho is clearly a phenomenon of its own, despite all the big-name talent involved.Hitchcock not disappoint by leaving out his trademark dark humor. His genius is to make the climax that is at once both scary and funny. When I saw in the theater the audience was struggling in disbelief and fall-to-the-floor laughing. One website. .. Tony Perkins. Janet Leigh was much deserved accolades for this film, but it's Perkins giving it remains one of the best performance of an actor in a horror movie. He is so understated that its Brill device go with you. He becomes a character. Visit Brill appliances role is confirmed by the garbage actors in Gus Van Sants 1998 (dear God, make it stop!) Shot-for-shot remake. While movies are almost identical, Hitchcocks mainly due to the size and atmosphere (some creepiness is lost in color). This is evident from the first conversation between nature and Leighs Perkins, an important scene. Brilliance of the original Perkins shines even brighter when compared to destruction in the remake though words and pictures were exactly the same. Chemistry in the key elements in the remake gives everything away and exact understanding of our upcoming events. The fact that Perkins can never escape this role - his star stopped rising star as was done in the 50s - that proves he le, too well.I K may continue to use the word brilliant, but I can not hide my enthusiasm for this film. It is entirely unlike excessive in relation to the budget over the long foam spewing all too often out of Hollywood today. Psycho is a simple, well-crafted and just the right length.Eleven-and-a-half out of ten stars.
